Originally from Thessaloniki, Greece, but now residing in Chelsea London, Panos Lamprianidis studied Fine art in the School of Fine Arts of Thessaloniki, specialising in costume and stage design for the theatre. In February 2010 he concluded his extensive studies on Costume with a Masters degree at the London College of Fashion.
He has worked on the cutting edge of contemporary Design, relentlessly striving to make dresses that signify the purity of artistic expression. Thus far his work has been driven by a strong sense of imagination, coupled with influences from nature and the extravagance of the baroque period. Always trying to work with the creative input of the director, carefully attending to the needs of the theatrical production.
Ever since his first designer commission for renowned director and ancient Greek drama historian Nico Hourmouziades, he has been balancing on the boundaries between theatre and fine art. His ceaseless desire to transform the human body through dress, has led him both to costume design for performance and installations that belong to the world of Fine Art.
Being a designer as well as a sculptor of fabrics, he always prefers to realize his designs on his own, which makes his work very unique in its craftsmanship.
